Privacy Policy

• Account information: your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are encrypted and managed by our authentication provider; Dovetail does not store or access your plaintext password.
• Project content: information related to your construction project, including site walk notes and photographs, weekly reports, budget files, project documents, action items, and the responses you submit through the portal (including your name and the date and time of submission).
• Project details: project addresses, entity names, and team contact information that Dovetail enters to administer your project.
• Technical information: standard server and usage logs collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers, such as IP address, device and browser type, and timestamps, used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
• Mobile app permissions: with your permission, the mobile app may access your device camera and photo library, solely to let authorized Dovetail team members upload project photographs, and may register a push notification token to deliver project alerts. These are used only for those purposes.

We use your information to operate the portal, show you your project, deliver notifications, maintain a record of decisions and approvals, secure the service, and communicate with you about your project. We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

Access is restricted: clients can see only their own project, enforced at the database level. We share information only with the service providers that run the portal on our behalf: our hosting provider (Vercel), our database, storage, and authentication provider (Supabase), and our email delivery provider (Resend). These providers process data only to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.

We retain project information for as long as needed to serve you and maintain project records, and as required by law or professional obligation. We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, and database-level security rules that isolate each client’s data.
